Under 6 Free GP Scheme & Over 70's Free GP Scheme

All our practices are participating in the Under 6 Free GP Scheme. and Over 70's Free GP Scheme. The scheme's commenced on July 1st and August 5th respectively, so please register as soon as possible.

Please note that the Under 6 GP Care Scheme applies up to 6 years of age (age 0 – 5).

From 5th August 2015 everyone aged 70 or over, ordinarily resident in Ireland, will be eligible for free GP care regardless of income.

What do you need to do?

Medical Card Holders: If you or your child/children have a Medical Card or GP Visit Card they will automatically be registered for these new schemes.

Non-Medical Card Holders: If you or your child/children do not have a Medical Card or GP Visit Card you must register for these new scheme at gpvisitcard.ie

Doctors

Dr Hugh Durkin

Dr. Hugh Durkin MB, BCH, BAO, DCH, LM, MICGP (Dublin 1973) graduated from University College Dublin in 1973. He founded the Tallaght Medical Centre in 1977 and has watched it grow and develop over the past 38 years. Dr Durkin enjoys all aspects of family medicine. He is a registered Specialist in the General Practitioner category of the Irish Medical Council and regularly attends international conferences on advances in medicine.

Dr Dermot Daly

Dr Derry DalyMB, BCH, BAO, DCH, DO, MICGP (Dublin 1977) Dr Dermot Daly graduated from University College Dublin in 1977. He joined the Tallaght Medical Centre in 1982. Dr Daly has a keen interest in sports medicine and is a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners in Ireland.

Dr Thomas Field

Dr. Thomas Field MB, BCH, BAO, DCH, DO, FPC, MICGP, DSpMed (Dublin 1979) graduated from University College Dublin in 1979 and is a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners.  Dr Field joined the practice in 1986. His main interests are family planning, minor surgery, cryotherapy and sports medicine.

Dr Laura Durkin

Dr. Laura Durkin MB, BCH, BAO, DCH, FPC, MICGP (Dublin 1999) graduated from University College Dublin in 1999. She joined the Tallaght Medical Centre in 2003. Her post graduate experience included working in Paediatrics in Tallaght Hospital and in the area of Gynaecology in the Mater Hospital. Dr Durkin enjoys all aspects of general practice but has a special interest in women's health and paediatrics. Dr Durkin also carries out a cosmetic dermatology clinic in the surgeries. She is a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners in Ireland.   Dr Laura Durkin is a registered specialist in the General Practitioner category of the Irish Medical Council. She has attained additional qualifications in the areas of children's health and family planning.
